Long gone are the days of B&B chintz and greasy fry-up breakfasts. Escape Boutique B & B is the ultimate in chic boutique luxury accommodation. This stunning Mediterranean styled Victorian villa was designed by an architect for his private residence in 1890, and has now been imaginatively transformed into a masterpiece of cutting edge interior design.
Sam and Gaynor came here in 2004, and bought the house as a lifestyle change. After successfully trading for 5 years and eager to pursue their avid interest in interiors, they closed in January 2010 and have recently completed a magnificent £150k refurbishment, which has now raised the standard for boutique hotel accommodation in the UK to another level.
A great deal of thought and vision has gone into this project, with a clever and quirky mix of old and new, from near and far. Each room is a mini world all on its own, and has its own highly individual personality, including Retro Red 70s , the high-tech New York Loft, designed on a stunning 3 levels, and my favourite - also high tech - the Romantic Boudoir room with LED Swarovski infused wallpaper and 22 carat gold leaf tiling in the bathroom. All 9 bedrooms have mood lighting and high tech flat screen TVs & Bose IPod docking stations. The majority of rooms have magnificent views of the town, the sea front and the Great Orme nearby.
The downstairs lounge and dining room are elegantly furnished and framed by original stained glass windows and oak panelling. Soft ambient back ground music adds to the calmness and serenity. There is also a very well priced honesty bar, and advance bookings can be taken for champagne & flowers on arrival for that special occasion. Children aged under 10 are not allowed to stay, making this an even more attractive getaway for parents needing some quiet time.
Llandudno is Wales' largest seaside resort and there is plenty to do around here. There is the longest pier in Wales, Britain's only cable hauled tramway, Britain's longest passenger cable car and nearby historic castles. Not to mention the sandy beaches and nearby Snowdonia National park. For those who wish to stay down town, there are plenty of gourmet restaurants and cafe bars as well as the recently re-opened Oriel Mostyn Gallery - the foremost contemporary art gallery in Wales.
This is an Escape in every sense of the word, it's a fantastic luxury escape to a great seaside resort, and then it's a further escape to the particular world you have chosen to live in for your getaway break.
