Gothic House is an authentic characteristic Bed and Breakfast, right in the heart of Norwich.

Gothic House is a charming Regency house, centrally located in a hidden courtyard, just off Magdalen Street, in the heart of Norwich's historic city centre. It has an AA 4 gold star rating and is close to the main city attractions, just 5 minutes away from the Cathedral and Elm Hill. This is a grade II listed building and has been refurbished beautifully in keeping with the authentic décor of this Georgian former merchant's town house.  This is an individual style with great attention to detail.

There are just two bedrooms here so you are assured of attentive service by the friendly owner, Clive, who will ask you the night before for your breakfast requirements to ensure any special requests can be catered for. If you are here for a special occasion then there is also a celebration breakfast available on request!

The full Norfolk breakfasts are made using the best of fresh local produce as much as possible and also offers home-made bread. You will also have the chance here to meet the other guests over breakfast as well as the house's feline resident Tensing.

There is a twin room on the top floor and double room on the 1st floor. Both are bright and airy with rooftop views of the city. Each room has TV, tea and coffee making facilities slippers and comfy robes too. Due to the listed status of the house,  neither room is ensuite. The top room has a lavatory right next door, and each room has a dedicated bathroom on the 1st floor (so you do not share the bathroom with anyone else). Both bathrooms have luxury Molton Brown toiletries and soft comfy towels.

This is ideal for your city break in Norwich, which is steeped in history with two cathedrals, a castle, numerous churches, winding cobbled streets and hundreds of historic buildings. There are many good restaurants nearby for your evening meal as well as bars, café bars, galleries, quirky antique shops, theatres and traditional pubs within close walking distance.

Unusually for a city centre break you also have free parking here in the courtyard.  So if coming by car you can also explore the wonderful surrounding Norfolk countryside and 70 miles of coastline which is only minutes away. A city break in Norwich really does have the best of both worlds and Gothic House is a great place to stay for this. As there are just the two rooms you need to book ahead to check availability.  Credit cards are not accepted so payment would need to be by cash. Please check the website for further details.
