Park Plaza is fabulous for a city and coastal spa break! Combined with the buzz and vibrancy that cosmpolitan Cardiff has to offer, this makes it the perfect grown-up getaway! enjoy!

The award winning Park Plaza Hotel, Cardiff, South Wales, is perfectly located in the heart of the exciting Cardiff City near to all the city centre attractions.  Following extensive developments, Cardiff is fast becoming one of the most popular destinations for UK city breaks, and unlike many other UK cities,  this is also a great base for coastal exploration along the winding shorelines of South Wales. This is a stylish contemporary hotel within walking distance of Cardiff Castle, the Millennium Stadium and the new St David's 2 Shopping centre and theatres.

With 129 luxury rooms, superb dining facilities and the Laguna Health and Spa, this is a great hotel for a relaxing romantic or cultural city break.  The rooms are graded including superior, executive and suites, all with high tech appliances such as flat screen TVs, free Wifi, mini bar etc.  For a special treat you can upgrade to an Executive room or suite and enjoy free in house movies, half a bottle of wine and chocolates.  The crisp Egyptian cotton sheets, feather duvets pillows , and fluffy robes all help to make your stay a most comfy one.

If you've been busy around town in the day you can relax with some well deserved pampering in the Laguna Health and Spa. Here there is a stunning 20 metre pool, high tech gym and 8 beauty rooms offering a wide range of Asian inspired Elemis treatments.

For a romantic dinner for two, or champagne before an evening out on the town, there is the award winning Laguna Kitchen & Bar.  Again this is contemporary in design and highly popular with locals as well as hotel guests. A striking feature is the floor-to-ceiling wine wall dividing the bar from the restaurant, giving the bar area a more relaxed setting for a more casual offering.

The menu serves the best of local and regional produce, with a great blend of Welsh and British classics and also featuring some carefully selected imports to create an innovative menu to suit all tastes. There is an extensive wine and champagne list as well as several local beers available.

Cardiff city centre has recently undergone tremendous development and the nearby Cardiff Bay has been turned into a vast freshwater lake with the introduction of a barrage 10 years ago. It is now Europe's largest waterfront development and it has a wealth of leisure activities available both on and off the water.  There is plenty to do in Cardiff, my favourite is the water taxi from the Mermaid Quay which takes you from the Bay right into the heart of the city.  From here you can visit the Castle, art galleries, theatres, the Millennium Stadium as well as numerous bars, coffee shops, restaurants and designer shops.  The Comedy scene is flourishing too, with the Glee Club now a firm part of the UK circuit.  Cardiff is now one of the leading hosts for UK sporting occasions and also holds many top flight concerts in the new Millennium centre.

All in all, Cardiff is changing quickly and is evolving into a vibrant and cosmopolitan waterfront city.  The Park Plaza Hotel Cardiff is a great choice for a contemporary city break!
