The Captain's Folly is a charming luxury appartment. Here you can relax and enjoy the delights of Oban and all its surrounding attractions.

  The Captain's Folly is a luxury self catering apartment, situated right on the harbour front in the picturesque  town of Oban , Argyll. This is easily accessible only around 2 hours' drive from Glasgow.  This apartment is great for a luxury break in Scotland and as Oban is the Gateway to the Isles, this is perfect for your base to go exploring the surrounding dramatic coastline which is at the heart of the Scottish Highlands.

The recently refurbished  sea front apartment is bright and airy and  part of the prestigious Victorian Argyll Mansions building. It has retained many of its orignal mahogony features and comprises one double bedroom, bathroom, kitchen and large open plan lounge/ diner with Oriel window and glazed door on to the balcony looking over the harbour and out to sea. 

It is fully equipped for you to relax and unwind in comfort and is furnished to a high standard with TV, DVD palyer fridge/ freezer etc and luxury bed linen and soft white towels all provided.  The apartment faces west so has the sun all day and the most fabulous sunsets at dusk.  You can wake up in the morning refreshed and enjoy the fabulous harbour views and the outlying Islands around the stunning Oban bay. The ferries leave here regularily to go to nearby islands such as Mull, Kerrera, Colonsay, and the fishing boats can be seen each day coming home with their catch, ready to service the abundant seafood restaurants , hotels and shops in the area.

Oban is renowned as being the seafood capital of Scotland and  there are plenty of restaurants and traditional Scottish pubs only yards away, so you only need to take a short stroll home after dining out or after a few Malt Whiskies at the pub. The apartment  has free parking and with the ferries also right outside you have all  the attractions of Oban , the Islands and Highlands and  the ancient district of Lorn on your doorstep.

There is plenty to do here, whether it's a boat trip to one of the islands, a visit to the sea life sanctuary, a mini cruise, a tasting session at the Oban Whisky Distillery, a walk to the nearby Ganavan sandy beach or simply driving around taking in the breathtaking scenery.  Oban is a great escape from the city crowds, but still with plenty of life to entertain you and staying at the Captain's Folly luxury apartment will make your romantic getaway even more delightful.  Please check out the website for contact details and any seasonal offers.
