I felt like a pampered princess in our luxury spa suite. The champagne on arrival was the perfect start to a sumptuous and most relaxing stay here at this award winning hotel and spa.

The outdoor heated swimming pool and hot tubs are a must, as well as the heat experience in the spa.
A perfect hideaway hotel.
As soon as we set foot into the welcoming reception of the Feversham Arms we knew that we were in for a special country retreat, and as the friendly receptionist took us into our sumptuous Spa suite we were utterly bowled over!
This sophisticated, yet cosy boutique hotel is the result of an extensive renovation project of this former coaching inn in the heart of picturesque Helmsley. The luxury hotel buildings surround a courtyard which boasts a heated outdoor swimming pool as a spectacular centrepiece.
A truly romantic and stylish hideaway, the Feversham Arms is endowed with top-notch quality furnishings throughout. Everything has been designed with loving attention to detail and the staff are extremely welcoming and efficient.
The bright and spacious conservatory restaurant serves exceptional locally-sourced food. We particularly enjoyed the cheese selection. It took a while for us to make our choices as there were so many unusual and delicious cheeses on offer.
The traditional lounge and bar area is furnished in rustic fabrics, with cosy sofas to sink into and relax after your evening meal. There's also a well-stocked library with a couple of computers providing internet access. A private dining room can be hired for up to twenty five people, perfect for small weddings and or a special occasion for grown ups!
The "Liquid Amber" art gallery is a recent and innovative addition to the hotel's hallways. This permanent display of paintings, many by local artists, adds a wonderfully artistic touch to the hotel's general ambience.
We were struck by the tranquility of the Spa area where extreme relaxation is definitely on the cards. As well as several treatment rooms, there's a fabulous Heat Experience area with several aromatic steam rooms, perfect for clearing your head after an invigorating swim in the heated outdoor pool.
Picturesque Helmsley is central to Yorkshire's "Golden Triangle" with the historic city of York to the south, Durham to the north, and the rugged North Yorkshire coast to the east, and there's a wealth of wonderful local attractions to visit. The nearby gardens of Harlow Carr and Helmsley walled garden are a horticulturalist's delight. Magnificent Castle Howard is only a stone's throw away, and there are plenty of riding schools and fishing opportunities in the area. Whilst the ladies are steaming themselves in the Feversham Spa, gentlemen might relish a different type of steam experience. We recommend the North Yorkshire steam railway, just a short drive away from here!
