The Glasshouse is perfect for your Edinburgh city break. Fabulous oversized ultra chic rooms and the Zen themed roof garden was a sensational surprise!

  The Glasshouse luxury boutique hotel is right in the heart of Edinburgh,  Scotland's capital city and one of the most dramatic, historic and vibrant cities in Europe.  The historic former 150 year old church facade opens out inside to a spacious contemporary entrance, leading upstairs to a lounge and bar area. There are 40 guest rooms and suites which are all lavishly furnished and have floor to ceiling windows with city views or the suites open up to the scented relaxing roof garden.  Here you can sit outside your suite and enjoy a glass of wine or champagne before your evening out in the city.  If it's a very special celebration, you can indulge and treat yourself to the private suite with its own sauna and jacuzzi.

All rooms are designed with comfort, light and space at the forefront,  featuring contemporary artworks and luxury items such as  high tech LCD TV, Wifi,  Egyptian cotton bed linen, mood lighting and super soft towels and toiletries. The 18 suites are all named after whisky brands and in such a great location, it doesn't take long to remind you what a fabulous heritage experience this is, a perfect destination hotel for your romantic city break in Edinburgh.

I arrived late afternoon and was greeted at the door by the most genuinely  friendly concierge, who then showed me to the open plan welcoming reception area.  I was taken to my room and all the rooms high tech room features were explained to me. This was a God send later as I attempted to draw the electronic blackout curtains and control the mood lighting around the suite.  My suite had a spacious living area as well as a walk in dressing room next to the bathroom. The table and chairs on the roof garden terrace were great for a summer's evening  aperitif  before I took a stroll around this exciting walking city.

The hotel is proud of its reputation for great full Scottish breakfasts, which includes free range eggs, smoked Ayrshire bacon, Buccleuch pork sausage, black pudding, grilled plum tomato, Portobello Mushrooms & Potato Scone. There are also other delicious a la carte options such as Eggs Benedict , Eggs Florentine  and Scottish Smoked Salmon served with free range scrambled eggs.  This truly was service with a smile as the restaurant is headed by a lovely spritely Japanese lady who rumour has it, is also an expert in Origami! Breakfast can be served in your room should you wish to chill out and relax on your weekend getaway.

The Glasshouse team work closely with each other to ensure your stay is the most relaxing and enjoyable experience. There is so much to do in and around Edinburgh and the hotel is more than happy to arrange a city itinerary  or restaurant reservations in advance or any special requirements on your arrival. Champagne and flowers in your room is a great start to your romantic weekend away. In conclusion, my stay here was certainly one to remember and we can thoroughly recommend the Glasshouse Boutique Hotel for your city break in Edinburgh.
