French House with Plunge Pool, Pouzolles, Central Languedoc, France

In a lively village surrounded by vines, with bakery, cafe / restaurant and various visits from the pizza van, the oyster van, meat, fruit & veg markets and the famous weekly Brasucade in summer, this house is the ideal spot to experience real French village life. Relax in the pool with a glass of rosé or head out to explore medieval villages, local markets, bric a brac and antique shops. Close by are rivers and lakes for swimming, or the Mediterranean beaches at just over 1/2 hour away. From the house there is a magnificent view over the roofs to the vines and you can see two châteaux from the roof terrace! 

The Accommodation - French Style

The kitchen is open plan to the living / indoor dining area and leads directly out onto the terrace for outdoor dining. Bright, comfortable open plan living / dining area with three couches and a large TV screen. Wifi, French & English freesat TV are available. Linen, towels and pool towels are provided. Outisde enjoy the rooftop views with your own plunge pool, sun loungers and private terrace garden.

The property has three bedrooms and two bathrooms.  Master bedroom with super king sized bed and en-suite bathroom with large italian shower and rainshower head. Second bedroom with super king sized or can be arranged as two single beds. Third bedroom with standard double bed. Family bathroom with shower over bath and double sink.

Location

The village of Pouzolles lies in the Herault region of central Languedoc France, a short and scenic drive inland from the Med. It is a charming and historic old wine village made up of traditional stone houses topped with terra cotta roofs vying for position up and down the gently sloping lanes. A twin turreted chateau overlooks the centre of Pouzolles. The strong southern French character is enhanced by the local bar, where friends and family catch up on the local gossip, and the boules court where the almost daily sporting action of the summer takes place under the shade of the huge plane trees that line the park. This is also the place where a weekly fete is held on balmy summer evenings where both locals and visitors alike are warmly welcomed.

Languedoc-Roussillon benefits from an excellent transportation network: the region is served by 5 international airports and 3 motorways, and the high-speed train links Paris to Montpellier several times daily in less than three and a half hours.
There is a reliable schedule of flights to Montpellier running during peak periods. Montpellier, Languedoc's largest airport, is located between Montpellier and the coast, being a short 10 minute drive to the city centre.
