Cowley Manor is one of the Cotswold's finest luxury boutique hotels. This is a lovely contemporary chic manor house set in 55 acres of rolling countryside.
Opened in 2002 ,this 19th-century Italianate Mansion house with beautiful gardens has been transformed with contemporary chic interiors and luxury furnishings, blending well with the traditional character of the building. Great attention has been given to detail with papier mache trophies in the bar, a leather panelled pool room with unique artwork, and with the friendly staff around to help, these all add to the relaxed and easy going ambience throughout the hotel.
There are 30 bedrooms with handmade furniture and high tech fittings such as iPod stations, LCD screens , DVD & internet. Some of the luxury suites are on 3 floors and some on two or one but all with deep baths, double basins and large overhead showers.
The Restaurant has elegant wood panelling and large windows looking out to the grounds, this serves an imaginative fine British food, sourcing as much as possible from local suppliers' organic and seasonal produce.
There is plenty of room to relax and chill here, the bright & airy sitting room opens out to the terrace overlooking the lawns and rolling countryside. There is a lavishly furnished bar, which is great for evening cocktails or a brandy after dinner.
For those wanting a pamper treat, the C,Side Spa has 4 treatment rooms using Green & Spring products, a gym , a 17mt green slate indoor pool and an outdoor heated pool.
This is a great place for a country spa break, although it's best to come in term time for those wanting more tranquil stay.
There is plenty to do around Cowley, with its 12 century church, the surrounding Cotswold villages and the rolling hills and fields which are ideal for an energising walk. Only a 2 hour drive from London, it's easily manageable for a weekend country break.
