A truly glamorous Parisian hideaway!

Located in the centre of Paris but tucked away on a quiet gallery-lined street in St Germain de Pres, l'Hotel is the perfect solution for a bohemian hideaway break in this most romantic of European cities.  This opulent hotel has an awe inspiring history combined with an all-encompassing sense of high living, glamour and decadence.  It opened as a "Pavilion d'Amour" in the early nineteenth century. Since that time, celebrities have been attracted to l'Hotel like bees to a honeypot.

It was once the rented home of an impoverished Oscar Wilde, who lived here till his death and whose handwritten notes are displayed in his former boudoir.  Sophia Loren, Elizabeth Taylor, Frank Sinatra and Princess Grace of Monaco all stayed here, Johnny Halliday  wrote a song here and the Rolling Stones partied here.  Its colourful history spans the worlds of Hollywood, rock and roll, artistic and literary culture.  Beautifully renovated by designer Jacques Garcia during the 1990s, this luxury hotel has retained much of its original character and has kept many of its valuable antique furnishings whilst having been brought totally up to date in terms of 21st century style and comfort. Like its sister hotel in Gloucestershire, Cowley Manor, it is full of character, yet luxe and chic.

The hotel's most outstanding feature is the central atrium with its winding staircase which leads to six wonderful floors. The building stands upon huge vaulted cellars which have been transformed into the most luxurious private hammam pool and steam room. Their restaurant, Le Restaurant, has one Michelin star and the finest French cuisine is served here. This spectacular restaurant is furnished with comfortable armchairs and inviting sofas which urge you to enjoy a long and relaxing fine dining experience and afterwards you can retire to the lavish and well-stocked bar area for after-dinner drinks.

Throughout the hotel, the inspirational décor reflects a plethora of different styles and cultures. Rooms are furnished in Indian, Morrocan and French art deco styles, whilst the public areas are more classically inspired.  The overall ambience of the hotel is divinely decadent and romantic and you will feel like you're staying in a fabulously eccentric and extravagant private home.

Whether you're looking for a luxurious city break or an uber-romantic weekend away from it all (or both!) l'Hotel will cater admirably for your needs and, with Paris on your doorstep, you'll be guaranteed a phenomenal luxury getaway.
