Great for Lakeland walks or simply indulging in the hotel's luxurious facilities with the odd trip to Grasmere village just down the lane.
Set in the vale of picturesque and historic Grasmere, the jewel of the Lake District, Rothay Garden is a 4 star luxury boutique hotel, ideal for your romantic country getaway. This is only a stone's throw away from the village centre and its historic buildings such as Dove Cottage where Wordsworth spent much of his time.
Rothay Garden has been completely refurbished and transformed in to a chic and tranquil country hideaway, surrounded by 2 acres of beautiful grounds, ideal as a base for fell walks and country exploration, or as many seem to prefer , simply to retreat into the Rothay experience and embrace all it has to offer.
The hotel staff are extremely welcoming and friendly, and have been managed for over 20 years hear by the established hotelier Chris Carss. The benefits of this experience and their guests' needs are paramount here, in the layout of the sumptuous lounge and bar areas and the luxuriously designed bedrooms and suites.
Each of the 30 rooms is individually designed in keeping with the original building structure, complementing this with the best of high tech features such as flat screen TV, spacious designer bathrooms, and fully sprung king and queen size beds.
All ground floor rooms have garden or riverside patios, and there are plans next year to add private conservatories here, and balconies for the first floor rooms.
The Management have sought to make this retreat your home from home, but with no noisy little ones running around. Children under 5 are not encouraged here and unlike other boutique hotels, noisy private functions are not available here, so you can be assured of a more peaceful retreat away from the hustle & bustle of your often chaotic family life. You can both return home feeling refreshed and ready to take on your crazy little monsters again.
The Rothay Garden Conservatory restaurant proudly holds two AA rosettes. Here Chef Andrew Burton and the team serve the best of local and seasonal produce. The full Lakeland breakfast will set you both up for the day ahead and upon your return in the evening you will experience the team's passion for giving you a romantic dining experience to remember! The knowledgeable staff can help you with the fine wines and champagne selection helping to make your well deserved break a most memorable one.
