A truly stunning setting for a romantic dinner for two, superb dining and fine wines. Dinner very nicely begins and ends in the lounge with aperitifs and a night cap, a fabulous treat is in store for you!

The Asknish Bay Restaurant at Loch Melfort Hotel, near Oban, is proud to have 2 AA Rosettes and is the perfect setting for a romantic dinner for two.  Overlooking the most amazing views of Asknish Bay on Scotland's west coast, and the surrounding islands of Jura, Shuna and Scarba, here head chef Colin MacDonald and his team strive to give you the best fine dining experience on Scotland's west coast.

Pre dinner drinks and snacks are served in the adjoining lounge, and the delicious 5 course gourmet dinner is served in the dining room overlooking the calm and tranquil waters of the stunning bay, with soft back ground music adding to the relaxed but sophisticated ambience.  Here the friendly staff will help you can choose from a wide array of fresh fish and seafood and local game and meat produce. I selected cured trout for my starter which came with a delightful fennel ice cream and following the soup and smoked haddock appetiser, I was then treated to sea bass with seasonal vegetables and crushed potatoes.  Almost everything here is home-made including the marmalade, breads, and ice cream and in addition to this there is a carefully selected wine list to accompany the delicious food.

Visitors are welcome to dine here for breakfast or dinner and it's advisable to book a reservation in advance as the restaurant is often busy with locals, guests and tourists alike.  Take a look at the hotel's website for more mouth watering menu and booking information.  Don't forget to mention "away without the kids" when booking.
