We had the most relaxing stay here and thoroughly enjoyed our treatments, not to mention the rejuvenating hydrotherapy experience!

Although water healing in Malvern has been around for centuries, there's been no spa in the town since 1910...until now, that is!  The opening of the Luxury Boutique Malvern Spa Hotel has regenerated this ancient tradition in a truly spectacular way.

Step out of a hectic world and into a realm of airy tranquility. This luxurious boutique hotel and world-class spa opened in August 2008 in a newly built, sleek urban building commissioned by local artist and property developer, John Williams. Williams and his creative team created some of the fittings in his own workshop and examples of his striking artwork are on display in the hotel's stylish Gallery Restaurant.

The hotel and spa caters for over 18s only so you have great excuse to leave the children with their grandparents and head off to Malvern for a perfect pampering experience. Local attractions include Malvern Priory, Upton-upon-Severn and the glorious Malvern Hills. The Three Counties Showground is right on the doorstep and the historic market towns of Ledbury and Worcester are a short drive away.

The 32 ensuite bedrooms are spacious and minimalist in design, equipped with modern facilities including plasma televisions, wifi and power showers, and we slept incredibly well in the comfortable beds. Some bedrooms have been specially designed to cater for the needs of guests with mixed abililties, and we found the hotel staff to be unfailingly friendly and approachable.

The Gallery Restaurant offers great dining at a very fair price. We were impressed with the mouthwatering menu choices and we noted that vegetarians are well catered for. If you prefer something lighter, sandwiches, salads and snacks are available in the bright and welcoming brasserie.

The spacious spa area has a large gym furnished with advanced state-of-the- art equipment and there's a wide range of fitness classes on offer. We loved the spectacular hydrotherapy pool, which is filled with pure filtered Malvern water. You can swim from the indoor pool to the outside pool through a connecting channel and it's a wonderful spot for lying back and admiring the views of the nearby Malvern Hills. After bathing, relax in the Kilo Sauna, furnished with wood sourced from the Antarctic. You'll also enjoy the beautifully lit and atmospheric steam room. The Jerusalem marble flooring adds an extra hint of luxury and the changing rooms provide some thoughtful touches such as hair straighteners and private shower cubicles.

A stylish reception area allows you to browse a wide selection of upmarket spa products whilst awaiting your treatment. There are ten treatment rooms, a wide choice of treatments on offer and a friendly and dedicated team of staff on hand to provide an extra special pampering experience. We certainly felt ten years younger after our treatments and would thoroughly recommend this for a ladies' spa break or a romantic getaway!
