This romantic restaurant has views to die for!

We were completely spoilt for choice here at the renowned luxury eco boutique Scarlet hotel. The head chef, Michelin award-winning, Ben Tunnicliffe, is passionate and adventurous with his food. He sources the best of local ingredients such as St Ives Beef, Atlantic cod, sea bass and oysters as well as organic seasonal vegetables. I had my first and memorable tasting of the delicious seaweed "velvet horn".

There is seating outside on the terrace or inside the contemporary and stylish dining area, which looks out through full-length windows on to the magnificent bay and the Atlantic ocean- the perfect back drop for a romantic dinner for two at sunset.

The staff are naturally friendly and helpful with wine suggestions and menu explanations, (I hadn't a clue what velvet horn was!) and soft background music adds to the cool sophisticated cool ambience.

Prices are very reasonable and lighter lunch options are available in the day. Children aren't permitted here, so the Scarlet restaurant is the ideal Cornwall eatery for your grown-up getaway.
