A delightful boutique B&B close to the centre of Windermere!

Wheatlands Lodge offers boutique guest accommodation very near the centre of the popular Lake District resort of Windermere. It operates a no-kids policy so you can be sure of enjoying a stress-free environment and treating yourself to a thoroughly relaxing country break.

There are eight lovely bedrooms, all doubles and all of them with extremely spacious and clean modern ensuite bathrooms. Each bedroom has been thoughtfully decorated in its own special style and themes range from modern stylish eastern-inspired decor to a more traditionally furnished room with a wooden four poster bed. A fresh and immaculate ambience pervades throughout, whilst the charming character of a delightful older residence is retained.

The rambling mid-Victorian mansion has plenty of quirky details including paintings, mirrors, chandeliers and grandfather clocks. There are polished wood floors throughout, and a lot of attention has been given to fine details.  The small reception lounge provides guests with a welcome introduction to the guesthouse on arrival.

Wheatlands Lodge is hidden away in a quieter part of the popular town of Windermere near Birthwaite Park and it has the added benefit of owning its own private parking area. Some of the rooms have tantalizing views of the Lakeland fells in the distance. It's a pleasant twenty minute stroll down to the lakeside at Bowness and you'll find a fine selection of restaurants, pubs and shops in the town, all of them within easy walking distance. We liked it here - it's a lovely place for a Lakeland getaway!

This boutique B&B is stylish, contemporary and very friendly. The owners here, Sarah and Joe, are very personable and approachable. There's a real sense of the personal touch and we know you'll be made very welcome here. We're sure that you'll particularly enjoy the breakfasts which include freshly cooked pastries and fresh fruit. There's a choice of generous well cooked breakfasts, including vegetarian options.

Windermere is a great place to base yourself for a relaxing Lake District holiday or a weekend break as there are so many amenities in this town and it's easy to drive to some of the most stunning places in Cumbria from here. Windermere train station is just up the road. You certainly won't be stuck for things to do. You have all the amenities of a small and bustling town with local boat trips across Lake Windermere to Hawkshead and beyond. You can also visit the beautiful Arts and Crafts house of Blackwell or go to the Beatrix Potter Museum in nearby Sawrey.
